Hi, I'm Yugan Kumarage—a photographer, filmmaker, and creative director focused on creating visual stories that help brands and people communicate their identity through powerful imagery.
My journey in photography began five years ago with a curiosity for storytelling through visuals. What started as a passion for capturing moments developed into a professional practice across multiple creative fields, including hospitality, fashion, weddings, architecture, food, and commercial photography.
Over the years, I have developed a strong understanding of lighting, composition, and visual storytelling—combining technical precision with a creative approach to produce imagery that feels authentic, intentional, and memorable.
As a Creative Director at Lumio Collective, I have worked on developing visual concepts, guiding creative direction, and collaborating with teams to create cohesive brand experiences. This experience has shaped the way I approach every project—not just as a photographer, but as someone who understands branding, storytelling, and the purpose behind every image.
Today, I specialize in hospitality photography and cinematic content, helping hotels, resorts, villas, and restaurants showcase the experiences they offer. I believe hospitality is not just about spaces—it is about emotions, atmosphere, and the memories guests create. My role is to translate those feelings into visuals that connect with audiences and strengthen a brand's presence.
Every project begins with understanding the story behind the subject. Whether it's a luxury property, a fashion editorial, a wedding celebration, or a brand campaign, I focus on creating visuals that represent the unique identity and purpose behind each client.
Alongside my professional work, I am currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Production at AMDT School of Creativity while studying for a Pearson BTEC in Cinematography. This combination of industry experience and formal education allows me to continuously develop my creative and technical skills.
My goal is simple: to create visuals that do more than capture a moment—they create an impression, tell a story, and leave a lasting impact.
